Yesterday Trinity had an ultrasound and a follow up appointmentwith the pediatric urologist. What an emotional day. She did greatwith the ultrasound, just laid there for the guy, playing with my hand, not wiggling around, just as we asked her to!!
Then we met with the pediatric urologist, and the kidney is still huge, and not decreasing on its own like they sometimes hope itdoes. Just as the tests showed before, her ureter is connected in the wrong place. Also, her ureter is huge where it connects with the bladder. On the ultrasound (she showed us and explained it,which I love) the ureter is almost as big as her bladder. What this means? Definitely surgery. She likes to wait until they are 22lbs or so, so probably just after her year birthday. The surgery is 2-3hours and she will be in the hospital 2-3 days. Then she will havea stint (I think that is what she said) for about 5 weeks. Jason orI will need to stay home with her for 2-3 weeks.
