I just put a number of different blog posts up about about trip to Spokane this summer. It was a great little mini-vacation. We had planned to drive over together the weekend before Fourth of July, spend the week, and drive back on the Fourth. Well, Jason's grandfather was ill in Pocatello, ID and Jason decided to take a trip to visit him. His grandparents are both quite elderly and he felt this was likely his last chance to see them both. He had a nice short visit. He ended up driving over and Trinity and I caught an 8am flight on Saturday to join him. We flew stand by and aimed for the 7:30 am flight, which meant a wake up time of 4:30 am. You can imagine my joy when we were stuck in the airport even longer. A tired, cranky, hungry 4 year old is not a fun person to be around at 7am!!
We made it and had a great week. I think we will always drive back on the 4th! Last year we drove back on Sunday of the holiday weekend and had horrible traffic over the pass. This year it was smooth sailing and we got back in time to watch the Edmonds fireworks!!
