Obviously I had not updated our blog in awhile and finally got a chance to do a bit this evening. Look for more to come, as we are headed to Disneyland on Saturday!
We have been pretty busy lately. Trinity is loving Jr K. The second half of the year her teacher started sending one book home each week, usually about 7-10 pages long. Trinity is doing a great job reading them! Her teacher considers her a beginning reader! I absolutely love having her read to us and hearing her sound out the words. When she gets the word, she looks at me with such a proud look, and a question on her face, as if to ask "did I get it right?"!!
For next year we have decided to not send her back to the school she was at. We decided it was just too expensive. We (or Jason) will be homeschooling her for Kindergarten! The Edmonds School District has an Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center which works with families to have a plan and help you feel confident as your child's educator. There are also some classes offered there. Trinity will be able to continue her Spanish and we plan to buy curriculum books to continue the curriculum she was doing. We are all very excited and know there will be a lot of changes as we take on this task! Please, wish us well!
Last month was a sad one. Jason lost his grandmother. Violet Irene Bauer passed away less than six months after her husband. She was an amazing woman and kept a garden like no other! She was full of life and so caring. I loved the opportunity to get to know her and Jason's grandfather when we lived in Spokane. I am very saddened by the loss, and as you can imagine Jason is too. He lived with his grandmother for a bit after high school and often sat up late just chatting. He had a great relationship with her and will be missed.
